New Video Presentation: “Three Admirals:  Alfred Thayer Mahan” by Professor Andrew Lambert

In October 2021, Maritime History North (MHN) hosted a one-day conference at The Athenaeum, Liverpool, entitled ‘Three Admirals’, at which three distinguished historians spoke about three of the most important naval personalities of the early twentieth century; Admirals Alfred Thayer Mahan of the United States Navy, Alfred von Tirpitz of the Imperial German Navy, and Sir John Fisher (Baron Fisher of Kilverstone) of the Royal Navy.

The conference took place shortly after the sad death of MHN president (and LNRS honorary member) Professor Eric Grove, who was to have been the keynote speaker.

MHN have very kindly made the recorded presentations available to LNRS members and the first one, ‘Alfred Thayer Mahan‘ by Professor Andrew Lambert, is now available on our website.  ‘Alfred von Tirpitz‘ and ‘Sir John Fisher‘ will be released in July and August respectively.

To view the recording, simply login with your username and password, and a new menu item ‘Video Presentations’ will become available under ‘Videos’ on the Main Menu at the top of every page.  The newest recordings appear at the top of the ‘Video Presentations’ page.

If you are already logged in, you can go to the ‘Video Presentations’ page directly by clicking on this link.

Video recordings are only available to to LNRS members who are logged into the members’ area.  For information about how to become a member, please visit the Membership page, or contact us through the website or by email to: contactlnrs@gmail.com.
