Council recently invited Professor Nick White the noted Professor of Imperial and Commonwealth History at Liverpool John Moores University to accept the position of President of the Society, and were delighted at his acceptance. Nick has a wealth of experience and a particular interest in maritime history which will be of benefit to the Society and he is most welcome.
