The new Mersey Ferry, Royal Daffodil, takes to the water for the first time in historic moment

It is an historic moment for Merseyside and Cammell Laird’s Shipbuilders as the new ferry is floated today, Thursday 6th November 2025.

The vessel, to be called the “Royal Daffodil”, is painted in the fleet colours Red, White and Black. She will be taken by tug to the company’s test basin where she will be subjected to rigorous testing by the engineers before going on sea trials in the new year.

We wish the vessel and all those involved with her design, build and future the very best.
