LNRS Talk October 21 – Programme Change

We have been notified that our intended speaker, Caroline Withall, will be unavailable on 21 October, the date of the next monthly talk.  Consequently, her talk ‘The Forgotten Saga of the Marine Society’ will be rescheduled to a later date.

Instead, Ian Duckett will present a talk on the short but valuable life of the Glen Line’s MV Glenorchy, which was launched in 1939 and sunk in August 1942 whilst sailing as part of the famous ‘Pedestal’ convoy to Malta.

The talk will take place, as usual, at The Athenaeum, 12-18 Church Alley, Liverpool, L1 3DD.  Doors open at midday and the talk starts at 12.30pm.

Full details can be found here.  LNRS members don’t need to make special arrangements to attend – just turn up on the day – but please tell us in advance if you’d like to bring a guest.

It is intended that a video recording of the talk will be published on the website approximately a week after the event.

If you have any questions about the programme, or any other aspect of the LNRS, please contact us through the website or by email to: contactlnrs@gmail.com.
